This website was born out of my personal passion for art and a sense of belonging. I am a mom, a wife, an English teacher who loves painting, drawing and writing, but first and foremost, I am a Carpatho-Rusyn woman who comes from families of strong, resilient and wonderful moms, grandmas, great-grandmas and aunts who have supported each other the best they could for generations.
I don’t even remember how I noticed that there were no websites dealing with Carpatho-Rusyn art in English, so I started one, mostly for myself, in order to be exposed to art from a personally relevant perspective. And it has given me a great satisfaction to get to know many both classically trained and folk artists, and to enjoy the wholesomeness of Rusyn artistic expression.
